FAQs

What types of pets do you care for?

We have a wide range of experience from dogs, cats and birds to guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets! We love to take care of them all.

Why are in-home visits or walks important to my pet?

Dogs and cats may have a good time socializing with other pets, but they do long for the comfort of their own environment with familiar sights, sounds, and smells.  Pets can suffer from separation anxiety and have a stressful time in unfamiliar territory.  Pet owners may also run the risk at the boarding facility of exposing their pet(s) to illnesses carried by other owners’ pets and/or getting into a fight with other animals. There’s just no place like home!

When do I give my key to the pet sitter?

We require 1 copy of keys to your home at the time of the consultation.  Even in cases where we are using a garage code or keypad, we prefer a back-up key.  It is vital that you ensure the duplicate key works properly by testing it on your door before handing it to the sitter.  If it is requested the key be returned to the client, it can be left inside the secured home when we leave the premises after a final scheduled visit.

What is your policy in the event of extreme weather/emergencies?

While Go Pee Pee Dog Walking is prepared to walk and visit in all types of weather, please be aware that walks may be shortened or delayed due to extreme weather. The safety of your pet is our first priority, and during extreme heat or cold, visits may just be potty breaks or short walks and will include more playtime and petting inside. Your pet care professional will use their discretion, but please make us aware of any special circumstances for your individual pets.  Additionally, if the weather/roads are making travel difficult, we may have to delay or shorten visits in order to service all of our clients.

In the event of such severe weather/emergency conditions that would prohibit us from safely accessing your home to care for your pet(s), we recommend that you have a back-up caregiver (i.e., neighbor or family member) on file with us. Please know that we will do our absolute best to care for your pet(s) when scheduled, but for the comfort of your pet(s) and your peace of mind, it’s helpful to have a contingency plan in place.

What is your cancellation policy?

For drop-in visits, we require that your cancellation request be made before 9 a.m. the same day to avoid charges. If a same day drop-in visit is canceled after 9 a.m., we will charge for the full amount of the visit.  We guarantee visits on a first come first served basis, so booking early is in your best interest!

Is Go Pee Pee Dog Walking insured?

Yes. Go Pee Pee Dog Walking is insured through Pet Sitters Associates.

What is your timeframe for scheduled visits/walks?

All visit arrival times are approximate. We do our best to visit your pet(s) at the ideal time you would like, but we cannot offer an exact time. Instead, we will guarantee a sixty (60) minute time block for each visit. If we cannot make it within the 60-minute window, we will let you know via text or phone call when we will arrive.

May I give my pet care provider a gratuity?

Absolutely, and it is much appreciated! Our sitters work hard to go above and beyond, and it means a lot to them when they are rewarded for their efforts. You can give gratuities directly to the sitter by leaving cash.

How is payment handled?

Payment is due in full two (2) days prior to the first visit. If the visit is less than two days out, payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. There are occasions when we will bill out directly after the service is completed, in which payment is due upon receipt of invoice.

What type of payments do you accept?

Payment is due, at the latest, 2 days before the first visit. If the visit is less than two days out, payment is due upon receipt of invoice. Payments can be made in person via cash, Zelle, check, or through PayPal* (www.paypal.com) for debit/credit cards. We accept all major credit/debit cards.  If you are paying by check, payment can be made out to Go Pee Pee Dog Walking at the initial consultation. Declined deposits will incur a $25 fee and the visit will be canceled unless another form of payment is made.

*You do not have to have a PayPal account in order to use PayPal.

Do you charge extra for after-hours, weekends or holidays?
Go Pee Pee Dog walking is closed on weekends
and holidays but does make exceptions.

Non-Holiday Weekends and After-Hours Rate:  Add $5 per visit to posted rates.

Holiday Rate:  Add $10 per visit to posted rates for the following Holidays:  New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend (3 days), 4th of July and the day after, Labor Day Weekend (3 Days), Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Closed Easter Sunday.

Can you administer medication to my animals while I am away?

Yes, as long as your pets do not pose a threat to the sitter. When you first contact us, be sure to let us know of your pet’s individual medicinal needs so we can provide you with the proper staff member who is able to administer them - oral, topical and injection methods.

How do I know how the visit went?

Your pet sitter will send a text message to include a brief report and at least one picture of your pet(s).
